We run two Open shows a year - one in May and one in December, both attracting substantial entries. We also run Match Meetings once a month, and if you keep an eye on the "What's New Page" there may be something interesting happening next year!

A Little About the Society ...........
As the Secretary of a Society which has been running for 68 (going on 69) years, I thought it might be interesting for visitors to this site to know a little about us.
Nottingham Sherwood Foresters Kennel Association was first registered with the Kennel Club in February 1934, as Sherwood Foresters Kennel Association. In March 1955, an application was made to change the name to Nottingham Canine Society, and this was approved. Another application was made to change the name of the Society in February 1956, to it's present name, and this was granted on April 17th, 1956.
With handwritten minutes dating back to 1962, we have documentation relating to the last foot and mouth outbreak, the Committee paying for their own meals at shows (!), and the Golden Anniversary Show in 1984, when Golden Sashes were given to each Best of Breed.
The Committee has had very little change to it in the past 5 years, with the Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary remaining the same. The Society has gone from strength to strength, with very well attended shows, regularly exceeding the 3 per class average at every show before and since the new ruling.
I would personally like to say a big thankyou to everyone who has helped the Society out over the years - the Judges, Stewards, Sponsors, Breed Clubs for their Supported Entries, all the people who help us out, just because they want to, and finally the exhibitors, without whom the shows cannot continue to be a success.
